Update 2016

Online Food Safety Training - Now Bilingual

In an effort to streamline the online training process, and elimninate the confusion of different keys for different languages, we have combined the NFSTP Online Food Safety Training course with the Formation en ligne PNFSA. Moving forward, the user will choose their preferred language AFTER they enrol in the course. All keys distributed by Freeborn and Associates after the upgrade will work in the new bilingual course, regardless of the language specified at the time the order was placed.

Keys that were purchased for the Online Food Safety Training course (ENGLISH) that have not yet been activated, will still be valid and can be used to enrol students in this new bilingual course. Students that are currently enrolled in the English course will be automatically enrolled in the new course. They should see, once they select their language, that all of their training history is still there.

Keys that were purchased for the Formation en ligne PNFSA (FRENCH) that have not yet been activated will no-longer be valid. We will be contacting groups that still have valid enrolment keys for the French training to advise them of how to proceed. Students that are currently enrolled in the French course will be automatically enrolled in the new course. They should see, once they select their language, that all of their training history is still there.

Please note that the grade book will no-longer be visible. As implemented last year, when the minimum grade on a quiz is achieved, the lesson is marked complete. All lessons must be marked complete in order to generate a training certificate, and proceed with the Certification Exam.

Online Certification Exam - Now Bilingual

In the same manner as the online training course (outlined above) we have combined the NFSTP Online Exam with the Examen PNFSA en ligne. Moving forward, the user will choose their preferred language AFTER they enrol in the exam. All keys distributed by Freeborn and Associates after the upgrade will work in the new bilingual exam, regardless of the original language chosen.

Keys that were purchased for the NFSTP Online Exam (ENGLISH) that have not yet been activated, will still be valid and can be used to enrol students in this new bilingual exam. As with prior versions of the exam, proctors still need to contact us to remove a previous failed or voided exam attempt, or to re-activate exam access for users that may have been suspended.

Keys that were purchased for the Examen PNFSA en ligne (FRENCH) that have not yet been activated will no-longer be valid. We will be contacting groups that still have valid enrolment keys for the French exam to advise them of how to proceed. As with the English exam, the same conditions apply in that proctors will need to contact us to remove prior attempts or re-activate suspended access.

Changes to the Web Proctored Exam process

For participants who choose/need to write the Certification Exam using our affiliated web proctor service, we have made the process significantly shorter and easier.

Moving forward, students who are still actively enrolled in the new bilingual training course will not need to submit a request for a proctor if they wish to use the web proctor service. Once the course is complete and the training certificate has been generated, the student may select the option to proceed using a web proctor. They will read through the requirements, restrictions and tips, and then begin the process of scheduling their exam. The student will complete the registration process with the our affiliated service, and then select the desired exam date and time. Once a session date and time has been selected the student will be prompted to pay for the exam and proctor fee (still a combined total of $52.75). At the scheduled date and time, the user will return to the training course to connect to the proctor, who will guide them through the process.

Access to the web proctor will be contingent on the student's enrolment in the training course. If the enrolment expires before the scheduled exam session, the student will be locked out and unable to access the web proctor. There will be a form available within the training for students who may need an extension in order to write their exam with the affiliated web proctor service. This form should be submitted before the enrolment expires.

REMINDER: Certified NFSTP Proctors CANNOT proctor exams via web cam. If you are a Certified NFSTP Proctor and you are invigilating an exam (paper or online), you MUST be present in the room with the test taker for the duration of the exam.

Scheduled Maintenance

In order to implement the upgrades described above, the FSM Campus website will be inaccessible on Wednesday, November 23 from 12:00am (midnight) - roughly 12:00pm (noon) EASTERN.

Please ensure that you do not schedule any online exams for this time.

If there are members of your organization who will be writing their exam the following day, please advise them that they must complete their training and generate their certificate no later than 11:59pm (EASTERN) on Tuesday, November 22.
